Chatchai & Sinjai’s spirit is not broken; “Neua Mek 3” to be made into Movie
They’re still weaving the dream of making “Neua Mek 3.” But this time it’s to be made into a movie, after “Neua Mek 2” got banned from broadcasting when the storyline conflicted with the state. Producers “Nok Chatchai” and “Nok Sinjai” reveals that they’re still in negotiations stage along with waiting for their investor to make the movie. They reveal that this time they’re going to be more cautious and distance the storyline from politics. They’re going to attempt to prevent the movie from offending or conflicting others, however the concept of good virtue will continue like before.
We had plans in the making for “Neua Mek 3” since “Neua Mek 2” was still broadcasting. We planned to make it into a lakorn, but then that situation occurred. So I talked it over with P’Oui whether it be a good idea to make it into a movie. P’Oui is still writing the script for it, at this moment though.
What are the chances of this succeeding into something?
Sinjai : We’re not sure yet because we’re still in talks with the investors. Also P’Oui still has to concentrate on his own movie first.
Are you fearful that you might encounter the same problem as the last time?
Chatchai : No. Movies are more open-minded. To be honest, the plot will have nothing to do with the second part. Just that it’ll have the same characters
Sinjai : When we do make it, it wouldn’t have anything to do with the lakorn itself. To make it into a movie as intended with the previous plot, we have to think about what to do. Make it more into a movie.
The concept will still involve politics and good virtue?
Chatchai : The concept of good virtue will carry on. However politics will only be faint.
If you really do end up making the movie, what will you be cautious about?
Sinjai : Be careful (laughs). It’s not necessary. Really, if we had determination to create art, viewers should make up their own mind about it. Just that we’ll take more precaution making it, so we don’t conflict or offend others. Also we want to make it enjoyable too.
Does it break your spirit?
Chatchai : Not at all. But we’re still waiting for investors.
How far along is it at?
Chatchai : It’s just a project that’s still in talks.
