Thailand blames everyone and everything except for Maria Miss Thailand Universe 2017
Hello, we’re once again talking about Miss Thailand Universe 2017 “Maria Lynn Ehren” about Thailand’s denial of her losing the Miss Universe crown. The lost has create a storm blaming her question to her dress and fail makeup that causes her lack of confidence on the big stage, but you cannot touch or criticize the crown Miss Thailand, because she is walking on water. To the Thai, she is the definition of perfection, her body to her face, from her education to her brain.
One of the main reason I don’t like about the Thai media is that they are impartial to the celebrities. They are friends with them so their sources and news has been forgiving and praising. A scandal that should be condemn is praise-worthy to them. You see in Hollywood, if a scandal broke out, that’s the downfall of a celebrity and it will be hard to get the fame back. Same goes for Chinese and Korean celebrities. Only the Thais that make their most scandalous stars become even more famous with organizers lining up to pay them at a high rate for them to attend an event.
It has been a week and this topic is still hot. First, Thailand blame the unfair hard question about social movement of our generation. They point finger to the question being too generic and does not focus on one specific cause compared to the other contestants. The high praise of her answer is “perfect” to the point that she should have just been handed the crown. The Thais don’t even know what “social movement” is that they need the Thai embassy to translate the words for them. Some says their boyfriend speaks English and don’t even know what social movement is. Some said to this day, they still cannot think an answer to that question.
Secondly, they blame the revealing open front gown that shows her small breasts. They think it is too porno looking which is why she lacks confidence walking in this gown. We are talking about a woman that has been modeling since she was 13 that lack confidence walking in a dress. It is unbelievable. The designer Asava went to a show to talk about the gown and says that there is no way this dress will have a malfunction because there is a fabric that wrap all the way around her chest. We can’t see it because it is so light to the point it blends in with her skin.
Third, they blame her lack of confidence in makeup. There was some trouble with the makeup that she was supposed too FaceTime this makeup stylist about it but at the end was not able to.
According to the Thais, Maria’s answer is good. She is beautiful and perfect. It is her dress, her makeup, her question and the Miss Universe organization sabotaging her. They should only praise and be proud of her. No headlines should be saying she “LOST” the crown. The headlines should say “Maria successfully made top 5”.
They need to stop being in denial. She did not make top 3 because her answer did not make sense. I get the nerve and the pressure but others were just as nervous and was able to make sense with their answer. I don’t think they’re looking for a perfect answer, but they’re looking to how well you can handle pressure.
Another thing, the reason why Thailand was able to get to top 15, top 6 and now top 5 because of the fan voting system the organization implemented a few years ago. So no surprise if next year they make as deep. But they will have to find someone who is good at public speaking and well rounded with news over the world, so that she wouldn’t be stuck on stage looking lost. Social test is very important.
One last question, some people believe she refused to answer the question because it would be controversial for her to address an issue in Thailand. She would have been hit with controversial and maybe even barred from entering Thailand. Do you think that is the case? Personally, I don’t think so. The Thais made every excuse.
Maria thank her supporter and congratulate the countries that made Top 5.

Is she half European? She’s beautiful but she doesn’t look Thai at all.
She’s half thai and swedish i think
Her answer was definitely choppy. I wish she had done better but it was great that she made it to the top 5. Social movements of this generation are probably lgbt rights, representation/diversity, and gender equality.
I understand your frustration because beauty can’t solve everything. In addition, it can’t even win you a crown since everyone running is equally as beautiful. It is time they accept the truth.
